To finish off the two day event all the guests were treated to a train ride and were hosted in the local township for a walking tour and experience.
South African Tourist Guides celebrated with a two day event presented by the Department of Tourism in partnership with the Robben Island Museum( RIM) in Cape Town, Western Cape. Themed " Peace and Development through Guiding, "
The two-day event provided a platform for tourist guides to discuss their role in promoting peace, security and mutual understanding in relation to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals( SDGs).
All guests were transported to the island via the Ferry, followed by informative sessions presented by Guest speakers on Robben Island. The Minister of Tourism, Minister Derek Hanekom presented at the Gala Dinner and mentioned the importance of Tourist Guides in the value chain of Tourism, referring to them as THE LEADING LIGHTS.

1 Valladolid: In Valladolid we are going to celebrating with a nigth city tour and our income will go as a donation to The Foundation Sindrome
2 Valencia: In Valencia we offered different kind of small tours in different languages, the duration were arround 30 min each one, to explore and discover the most important monuments in this city.
3 Madrid: Madrid TG Association organized several supportive free walking tours within the Literary District. Each participant cooperate bringing one kilo of non-perishable foodstuff. The nourishment collected was given to the charitable institution Mensajeros de la Paz. One tour was lead in sign language, by a qualified deaf TG for a group of deaf tourists, promoting universal accessibility. Great success! 4 Barcelona: We have had two important meetings. Both with nomber one monuments: Sagrada Familia and the second in Park Guell. The aim was to improve the role of our Guides when explaining there.
