-Auvers Sur Oise-
There were several ways to go there but train via Paris Nord and Pontoise was the most comfortable transportation for travelers. With the train, it took around an hour from Paris to Auvers Sur Oise.
Getting to the little village, there were barely any people but
lonely wind. It seemed like one of the ghost towns that appear in movies. With no information but only the painting of a girl in mind, it was the only way to buy the right map in a tourist information center for a successful journey. The map was just a small piece of paper which meant that it really was a small village. And it is only known as Van Gogh’s village. Everyone can see the trace of Van Gogh everywhere because of the signs that were put up on any places Van Gogh had painted or had inspired him.
My only duty was to find the place where he painted “Mademoiselle Gachet dans son jardin à Auvers-sur-Oise,” which, can be translated as “Miss Gachet at her garden in Auvers-sur-Oise” in English. In order to find the place, I started analyzing. First, who exactly is the Gachet? He was a doctor who helped Van Gogh’s struggle with his depression. In fact, Van Gogh moved to the little village for the doctor. Hence, Miss Gachet must be a daughter of the doctor. Then her garden might be in his house. Tracing the critical clues, I dawdled along a street. There was no reason to hurry. The air was filled with the strong scent of
