Taking Pallets into the Future: WPA Celebrates 50 Years

Rancho Mirage, California - The Western Pallet Association held its largest annual meeting yet, with close to 400 registered attendees converging on the beautiful Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort, close to Palm Springs. The meeting celebrated WPA’s 50 years of service to the industry, aptly themed “Taking Pallets into the Future.” The association also took time to pay tribute to the long, outstanding service provided by Dave Sweitzer and Kristine Durr. Sweitzer has now retired from his role as WPA’s Executive Vice President.

With the industry's challenging market conditions, participants were eager to network, share ideas, and glean ideas from four highly accomplished speakers. There was ample time for sightseeing and hiking, golf, the annual charity auction, and WPA’s eagerly anticipated inaugural poker tournament. Spoiler alert: Dave Uppal of Pioneer Pallet, Surrey, British Columbia, won the coveted poker championship bracelet.

Glenn Meeks, WPA’s Executive Vice President, celebrated the years of service Dave Sweitzer and Kristine Durr provided. “Your ability to foster strong relationships has been the backbone of our association,” he said. “Your dedication to our members and your passion for our industry have been instrumental in creating a thriving community. Dave and Kristine, you have transformed our association, turning challenges opportunities and aspirations into reality.”
