Megan Bevins is an editorial and production manager for Executive Ink, LLC. She graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and a minor in political science. Bevins often spends time with Lilith, her niece, or takes her Chihuahua, Little Man, for walks in his stroller.
Cathy Bonnstetter
Cathy Bonnstetter has covered statewide business news for more than two decades. She also spent many years as an adjunct professional writing instructor at West Virginia University’ s Reed College of Media. She resides in Morgantown, WV, with her husband, Dennis.
Brooke Brown
Brooke Brown teaches middle school English language arts and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Western Kentucky University and a master’ s degree in teaching from the University of the Cumberlands. She is pursuing a Master of Science in library science at the University of Kentucky.
Samantha Cart
Samantha Cart is the editor at large for Executive Ink, LLC. A native of Buffalo, WV, she holds bachelor’ s and master’ s degrees in journalism from West Virginia University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing and organizing. Cart lives in Red House, WV, with her husband, Caleb; daughters, Joanna and Ruth; and son, Gideon.
Jordan Charbonneau
Jordan Charbonneau is a freelance journalist from Poca, WV. She holds a bachelor’ s degree in ecology from Sterling College Vermont and is passionate about writing on environmentalism and rural activism. When she’ s not writing, she enjoys gardening, mountain biking and kayaking.
Connie Conrad

Amanda Cummins
Amanda Cummins, M. S., PA-C, has worked in primary care for more than 16 years, emphasizing chronic disease management. She co-founded FARMacyWV with her partner, Dr. Carol Greco, and is passionate about addressing social determinants of health and barriers to care for West Virginians.
Melanie Dempsey
Melanie Dempsey is the CFO and vice president for financial policy at the West Virginia Hospital Association, where she leads analysis of federal and state health policies and advocates on financial matters impacting hospitals. Dempsey earned her undergraduate degrees from Davis & Elkins College and holds a master’ s degree from West Virginia University.
John Deskins
John Deskins serves as director of the Bureau of Business & Economic Research and associate professor of economics at West Virginia University. Deskins’ academic research has focused on economic development, small business economics and public policy.
Kenzie Dye
Kenzie Dye works as an editorial and production manager for Executive Ink, LLC. She holds a bachelor’ s degree in journalism with a major in advertising and minors in Appalachian studies and interactive design for media. In her free time, Dye enjoys hanging out with her friends and their dogs and co-parenting a dog, Maple, with her best friend.
Nicolle Flood- Sawczyszyn
Nicolle Flood- Sawczyszyn was raised in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. After attending school at University of North Carolina Wilmington on a golf scholarship, she played professionally in Europe, South Africa and the U. S. She has been in West Virginia for 25 years and volunteers for the West Virginia Mushroom Club, Mon Forest Towns and Allegheny Trail.
