ZMM Announces Completion of New River Health Medical Mall
New River Health in Oak Hill , WV .
New River Health is a collection of approximately 18 regional clinics and medical provider facilities with over 175 staff . To provide more centralized , accessible and modern facilities for its patients , New River Health purchased a former K-Mart superstore to renovate into a medical mall . The original building was built in 1992 at just under 95,000 square feet , which served the region well until it was closed in January 2013 and sat vacant .
ZMM performed a complete and thorough existing building evaluation for New River Health in order to confirm its viability for the project . ZMM then prepared multiple comprehensive design layouts for the various tenants and spaces and provided full architectural and engineering bidding and construction documentation for the renovation and adaptive reuse of the building , along with full services throughout the project through construction .
The groundbreaking for the project was on June 6 , 2021 , and the ribbon cutting and grand opening tours were held on December 6 , 2022 .
