Coming September 2022 Stonerise Summersville

Stonerise , one of West Virginia ’ s leading providers of transitional and skilled nursing care , and WVU Medicine Summersville Regional Medical Center ( SRMC ) are partnering to open a new care center in Summersville , WV . Stonerise Summersville will expand and improve health care to Nicholas County citizens as they age .
The approximately 70,000-square-foot , 90-bed , transitional and skilled nursing center is the first “ COVID-19 influenced ” center built in West Virginia and possibly the country . It will serve short-term and long-term transitional and skilled nursing patients , as well as people with Alzheimer ’ s .
“ The pandemic afforded us an exceptional opportunity to strategically consider how best to design and construct a new care center to be adaptable and uniquely built to protect against future infectious disease outbreaks ,” says Stonerise Chief Executive Officer Larry Pack . “ This new state-of-theart center will create a template for future development , and we are excited to partner with SRMC and the City of Summersville

to provide a variety of short and long-term care services to this community .”
The new care center will initially employ 130 people — including skilled clinicians , physicians , nurse practitioners and a variety of other administrative , culinary , maintenance and patient care roles . SRMC ’ s current skilled nursing staff will join the nearly 3,000 team members as part of the Stonerise Network . Stonerise Summersville is expected to begin welcoming patients in September 2022 and will be located on Professional Park Drive in Summersville , which was selected specifically to be located close to downtown as well as the hospital .
The center ’ s construction is well underway . It is thoughtfully designed with Alzheimer ’ s neighborhoods and dedicated hospice suites . Stonerise will apply for certification for a Certified Alzheimer ’ s / Dementia Special Care unit — making it 1 of 10 statewide . Stonerise Parkersburg and Stonerise Morgantown operate such units today .
The design blends aesthetically into the Summersville community and recreational culture , with a mountain lodge feel to both the interior and exterior . It will be a leadingedge , modern center across all aspects , from amenities and technology to expansive common areas . It features all private rooms , multiple small gathering spaces , more natural light and investment in outdoor spaces , including an outdoor therapy gym . The operations and clinical programming will also promote patient and team member care quality and emotional health .
Once the initial 90-bed care center is complete , Stonerise ’ s vision is to construct a detached , 14-bed assisted living cottage on the same campus . In addition to Nicholas County , Stonerise Summersville will serve patients in Braxton , Clay , Fayette and Webster counties .
Stonerise will actively recruit for open positions beginning spring 2022 , offering competitive compensation and benefits packages , paid time off , tuition reimbursement , 401k and more .
