Ongoing developments are transforming the Greater Summersville Area into a vibrant and thriving place to live, work and explore. Home to 3,415 residents, the region offers opportunities from world-class outdoor recreation to economic growth initiatives.
The Greater Summersville Area is home to Summersville Lake, West Virginia’ s largest lake and home to its newest state park. The park offers a chance to participate in activities like hiking and biking, water activities, picnics and camping.
Summersville also serves as an ideal gateway to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. Located just a short drive to the south, the national park is easily accessible for both residents and visitors.
The Summersville Recreational Complex, a brand new 128-acre facility, is currently in progress. The complex will be equipped with 15 miles of hiking and biking trails; soccer fields; baseball, basketball and pickleball areas; an inclusive playground; and a dog park. The project is scheduled to go on bid in Summer 2025.
