Following high school and military service , Christian Martinkat studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld , Germany , from 1996 to 2000 . There , he focused on international business administration and marketing , graduating with a master ’ s degree . This education paved the way for a diverse career spanning almost three decades .
Currently , Martinkat serves as the CEO and president of STOCKMEIER Urethanes USA , Inc . and chairman of the STOCKMEIER Urethanes Group . In this role , he oversees operations in the U . S . and at the company ’ s sister locations in the U . K ., France , Germany and Dubai .
With almost 30 years in the business and over 20 years in executive roles , Martinkat brings a wealth of knowledge and adaptability to his leadership style . This blend of experience and resilience equips him to navigate the rapidly evolving business landscape effectively .
“ My unbreakable will to win , inspired by my late father , Edwin Martinkat , has profoundly shaped my career ,” he says . “ He was my toughest coach and biggest supporter , and working alongside him until his passing in 2007 was a privilege that deeply influenced my professional journey .”
Another key influence in Martinkat ’ s life was a CEO his father worked with .
“ Observing this hardworking , strong yet good-hearted and jovial character left a lasting impression on me ,” he says . “ Additionally , my athletics coach during my teenage years played a crucial role in developing my determination and resilience . These mentors have significantly impacted my life , and I am forever grateful for their guidance .”
Martinkat considers establishing the STOCKMEIER plant in Clarksburg , WV , his greatest professional achievement . From site selection to overseeing construction and business development , he played a pivotal role in its success .
Throughout the years , in the U . S . and beyond , Martinkat has built an excellent workforce . One of his most cherished moments was receiving a heartfelt thank you video from employees , a testament to the strong bond and mutual respect within the team .
