Michele Smith , now senior vice president of business operations for Key- Logic Systems , joined the company fresh out of college and has now been a devoted member of the team for 22 years . Smith grew up in Tyler County , WV , in the town of Friendly . She graduated from West Virginia University at Parkersburg with a bachelor ’ s degree in business administration and accounting in 2001 and was hired as an accountant for KeyLogic in January of 2002 .
When Smith began at KeyLogic , she was joining the very small staff of a company that , at the time , had only existed for a few years . Throughout her time there , however , KeyLogic has grown to house a staff of more than 600 people . Smith ’ s role at KeyLogic grew along with the company and is now multifaceted and involves a wide range of responsibilities crucial to the company ' s operations .
Smith is responsible for overseeing the organization ’ s business operations , which include contracts / procurement , human resources / recruiting , information technology / quality , project controls , pricing and internal business development operations . She plays a critical role on the leadership team and helping the company succeed in its growth initiative .
Smith previously served as president of the Northern WV Chapter of the National Contract Management Association , an organization that provides networking and educational opportunities in contract management . In this capacity , Smith aided others in achieving fulfilling career paths similar to her own .
In addition to her professional achievements , Smith is a dedicated mother of three , balancing her demanding career with her family life . She resides in Morgantown , WV , where she continues to contribute to her community and the growth of KeyLogic .
