For a community to thrive , it requires the help of individuals and organizations who dedicate their time and resources to help surmount the obstacles that slow its progress .
Giving is not a new concept for West Virginians — a defining characteristic of Mountain State citizens is that they are always willing to lend a helping hand . This trait is exemplified through the state ’ s philanthropy sector , where foundations of many different focuses serve communities across West Virginia .
In the Spring 2024 Philanthropy issue , WVE is highlighting community , education , hospital and corporate foundations who are promoting change throughout the state by providing charities with an opportunity to showcase their upcoming projects , partnerships or growth opportunities .
