Building Up North Central West Virginia

Real estate development is a long-term game . Most projects take years to get off the ground and years to build out . Stella Construction is committed to the long-term development of the great state of West Virginia .
Located in Marion County , Stella Construction seeks to fill a need in the marketplace . New housing is in high demand all over the country but especially in North Central West Virginia . Founded in 2013 — with projects in Harrison , Taylor , Marion and Preston counties — the company is committed to both the short and long term .
“ I founded Stella Construction originally as a roofing company . Nine years later we ended up here ,” says Owner and President Dave Reitz . “ In 2017 , I made the decision to evolve into real estate development . In 2018 , I started my first land development project . In the past four years , we have built townhome projects , single-family detached housing projects and multifamily projects from the ground up .”
In 2019 , Stella Construction began building vacation homes at Alpine Lake Resort . During the COVID-19 pandemic , people in Washington , D . C ., Pennsylvania and Maryland realized they could live anywhere and work remotely . This has allowed the company to help bring new life into the beautiful resort at Alpine Lake .
In 2021 , Stella Construction received approval from the City of Bridgeport for its newest subdivision , Cherry Grove Estates — a patio home community . The company has identified a need in the market for aging community members to have single-level living . All floor plans in this community are ranch-style homes with an expansive owner suite . The location is in the heart of Bridgeport , with shopping amenities less than a mile away . Stella Construction has also succeeded in maintaining enough of the original topography and natural foliage to preserve a rural feel .
“ We are proud to be building this community and believe it will be truly unique ,” says Reitz .
In Taylor County , the company is constructing a mixed-use development called Green Tree Commons . This community will be 64 units with a combination of luxury townhouses and apartments . The second phase has begun and is expected to be completed in 2023 .
“ Our latest project is in partnership with Dave and Rick Biafora of Metro Properties . They have invested a great deal of money into Marion County ’ s premier shopping center , the Middletown Commons . We have worked side by side with them for the last year and a half to design a residential phase of this development ,” says Reitz . “ The residential subdivision , called the Villas at Martin ’ s Perch , is a community with unparalleled access to brand-new amenities and breathtaking 360-degree views . This community will boast a variety of product types , from townhouses to single-family homes at a variety of price points .”
Stella Construction believes strongly in North Central West Virginia ’ s developmental potential . The statistics for 2021 and 2022 show that although there is a population decline in the state , North Central West Virginia continues to grow on an annual basis . This is fueled by an extensive effort from large companies such as West Virginia University and Mon General to bring new jobs to the area .
“ We get to work with some of the best professionals in the state ,
