“ This was the first open event I have attended since being vaccinated . I had a blast socializing with the people who are the heroes in the field of health care . I loved the remarks of both Thomas Health CEO Dan Lauffer and FamilyCare CEO Craig Glover . They both stood out because Craig deflected the attention from himself to his team . Dan pointed to the whole room and said , ‘ We do this together .’ I am a native West Virginian , and it is such a special place to live . It has a rich history and heritage that I wish more people knew about . Working both in West Virginia and the surrounding states with larger markets , I have noticed the resources , knowledge and technology are not remarkably different for the most part . However , the people are so nice , so genuine and so real , and the landscape is so beautiful . West Virginia is one of the most beautiful places on Earth .”

“ West Virginia Executive ’ s Health Care Hall of Fame is another indication of the magazine ’ s consistent commitment to bring attention to what is great about West Virginia . These awards bring together professionals who make special day-to-day contributions to better the health and well-being of our state . Most of us do not know of each other ’ s activities , so getting to meet each other is special . As an honoree of the inaugural 2020 class , I remain grateful for the recognition , but now I am even more humbled to be included in the growing collection of providers and administrators who are really doing it on the frontlines . Hopefully , the recipients will look forward to meeting in the future and help use our collective wisdom to address the ongoing need of the people of West Virginia .”
