Last year, West Virginia Executive
magazine celebrated 20 years of publish-
ing. This year, we will celebrate the 20th
anniversary of our Young Guns honors
award program.
In celebration of this milestone, we will
be hosting, in conjunction with Leadership
West Virginia, the first-ever Young Guns
All-Class Reunion. The Young Guns
program and Leadership West Virginia
have a lot in common. Each program is
looking for some of the Mountain State’s
best and brightest and encouraging
them to continue taking leadership posi-
tions and having a positive effect on their
communities.
The celebration honoring the 20th class
of Young Guns will begin November 15
with an afternoon event. Beginning at
1:30 p.m., we will gather at the Embassy
Suites in Charleston for a speaking and
networking event. The featured speaker
will be John Temple, author of “American
Pain.” He will be explaining why his book
on the opioid crisis was so important to the
region and what he learned from the re-
search process. We will then have an open
discussion with community leaders as to
what we can do to help aid in prevention
and recovery efforts. The final portion of
this event will be speed networking and
will allow attendees to make important
connections.
That evening, event goers will arrive at
the newly renovated Charleston Coliseum
& Convention Center at 5:30 p.m. to
kick off the Young Guns All-Class Re-
union. We will be unveiling the Young
Guns Class of 2020 as well as the winner
of Leadership West Virginia’s 2019 Dis-
tinguished Alumnus Award. We will also
be taking class photos of Young Guns in
attendance from previous classes.
We hope you will join us at these events
and help us celebrate 20 years of Young
Guns. Tickets and sponsorship opportu-
nities are available.
