5. Kensie Hamilton Fauber and I were blown away by the interior infrastructure of the West Virginia State Capitol dome, and the insider access was a once- in-a-lifetime opportunity. 6 6. The Palace of Gold in Marshall County is beautifully ornate, but I remember this photoshoot because it was blazing hot and we weren’t allowed to wear shoes inside. 7. While I was taking this picture at the request of the mayor of Parkersburg, I was chased by five security guards in a white SUV while Kensie watched from our rental car. Apparently, it is frowned upon to photograph the Bureau of Public Debt. 5 7 8. While the weather kept us from seeing the actual launch of the rocket heading to the International Space Station, the three days of behind-the-scenes access on-site in Wallops Island, VA, were amazing. 8 9. We traveled to Nashville, TN, to photograph economist Arthur Laffer and stayed for the weekend. While it wasn’t part of the photoshoot, visiting Antique Archaeology was fun for me because I love watching “American Pickers.” 10. Charles Ryan is a West Virginia media icon, and this photo is now the cover of his book. 11. We sometimes put in an insane number of hours on photoshoots. While shooting The Homer Laughlin China Co., it was over 100 degrees, and we worked for 10 hours straight. 12. Table 9 in Morgantown is one of my favorite restaurants. I was also excited about catching Chef Mark Tasker on his bike because I am a biker myself. 42 WEST VIRGINIA EXECUTIVE 9 10 11 12
