West Virginia University at Parkersburg faculty, staff and students welcomed their new president, Dr. Chris Gilmer, to campus in July. Gilmer previously served as executive director of Alcorn State University in Vicksburg, MS, and vice president for aca- demic affairs at Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. He carries 25 years of service in higher education as an admin- istrator, professor, trainer and grant writer with 15 years of consulting experience. “I deeply care about this college, the people who work here, the students and the communities we serve,” says Gilmer. “I extend a genuine invitation to the campus and community to share their vision for this institution so we may build on cur- rent successes and achieve new heights.” United Bank Promotes Mock to Regional President DF Mock. United Bank has promoted DF Mock to regional president of its West Virginia markets. Mock will oversee the manage- ment and operation of day-to- day banking activities, client relationships and business de- velopment throughout eight of the nine markets in the state and Pennsylvania, which comprises 49 branches. “DF’s vision, passion and com- mitment to his customers and community have contributed greatly to the success of United Bank,” says Henry Kayes, chief operating officer of United Bank. “His expertise and strong relationships throughout the state will be invaluable as we continue to provide our custom- ers with personalized banking services.” Mock joined United in 2005 as a credit analyst. In 2010, he was named market president of the south market, making him one of the youngest market presidents in the bank’s history. For the last three years, he has served as United’s managing director of auto dealer services.
