Hatfield-McCoy Mountains, comprised of Wayne, Mingo, Logan, Lincoln and Boone counties, is a piece of West Virginia with a rich history and population motivated to do whatever they can to better the place they call home. Through revitalization efforts, new investments and innovative strategies, businesses in the region are moving it toward prosperity.
To highlight these initiatives and the organizations helping the region thrive, West Virginia Executive( WVE) magazine presents the Celebrate the Hatfield-McCoy
Mountains special advertising section. From advancements in economic development and fine dining to new strides in health care and outdoor recreation, participants in this section represent the best that the region’ s professional landscape has to offer.
The pages of this special section represent what can be done through determination and a strong love for community. WVE is proud to showcase the hard work that goes into making the Hatfield-McCoy Mountains a resilient and thriving place to reside and grow a successful career. •
In downtown Madison, Boone Memorial Health( BMH) is proving that a health system’ s impact can extend well beyond hospital walls. Last fall, BMH opened Market on Main, a year-round marketplace and greenhouse built to support local growers, vendors, entrepreneurs and Appalachian businesses, while giving residents a destination to shop and connect.
Operated by the BMH Foundation for Community Health, Market on Main hosts regular events throughout the year while expanding opportunities for food production, education and community programming locally. BMH is also partnering with the West Virginia First Foundation to launch Growing Futures @ Market on Main, an initiative aiming to support at-risk youth ages 8-13 in southern West Virginia.
Market on Main is making Madison a healthier and happier place to live, work, learn and play.
