Poca Valley Investing in Charleston
On February 22, 2025 Poca Valley leadership and employees gathered to break ground on its ninth branch location which will be in Charleston. Mayor Amy Goodwin and Kanawha County Commissioner Natalie Tennant joined the celebration. The location is expected to open next year at the corner of Quarrier and Clendenin streets where Sears Auto once operated.“ We are excited to bring community banking at its finest to the heart of the Kanawha Valley,” said Linda Ashley, Poca Valley’ s President.
Agsten Construction is in charge of construction, and work is underway.“ This is going to be a modern, smart facility that blends well with the direction in which Charleston is moving,” said Kevin Jennings, Poca Valley’ s Vice President and Human Resources and Marketing.“ You’ ve seen the upgrades at the Convention Center and Slack Plaza— this building will complement that same modern vibe. It’ s designed to be warm and inviting, with a reservable meeting space for locals to use. We’ re serious about being a part of a community on the rise.”
Poca Valley— serving communities of WV for 116 years— rebranded its logo and name in 2024.“ We’ re tweaking the name because Poca Valley’ s touch goes beyond banking,” Ashley said.“ We’ ll still be one of the best when it comes to checking, savings, and personal loans, but we want our communities to understand we bring excellence in wealth management, tax services, bookkeeping, and more. Relationships are everything to us, and in 2026 we will be opening our doors in Charleston.” Jennings added,“ This is the right time for rebranding. It’ s a sleek, contemporary look that reflects our vision for the future.”
