“ In today’ s highly competitive economic development environment, any and all financing tools are invaluable. The WVCAP loan was one of those tools that made Guntry’ s decision to choose West Virginia over competing locations and states with much larger MSAs an easy one. No other city, region or state was able to pull together and develop the partnership of the county, state and private development organization the way that West Virginia did. The final piece of the puzzle was the WVCAP loan. The program served as the funding source for the inventory needed to open Guntry West Virginia and without it, the project never would have happened in the Mountain State. As a lifelong resident of West Virginia, it brings me a sense of great pride to know that programs such as WVCAP are available to encourage investment and business development in our state.”

“ Over the past four years, Ashland Resort has gone through an amazing three-phase expansion. Expansion included two grand lodges as well as a 5,000-square-foot welcome center which serves as a registration area, store, fuel center, car wash and a place to grab a pizza. The first two phases were funded by owner investment, Pioneer Community Bank and the USDA Rural Lending guarantee program. The final phase was a 3,500-square-foot Indian Ridge Bar and Grill. This phase had support from Pioneer Community Bank and Wyoming County EDA. Through Wyoming EDA, WVJIT’ s Capital Access Program provided the last funding needed for the restaurant equipment. Local lending partners like Pioneer Community Bank, Wyoming County EDA and WVJIT make it possible for small businesses to grow!”

“ Partnering with the West Virginia Rural Health Infrastructure Loan Fund made it possible for us to complete a much-needed expansion at our Wirt County Family Care location. The low-interest financing helped lower our overall project cost, allowing us to add over 4,000 square feet of clinical and support space. This expansion improves access to care for our patients and gives our providers the room they need to deliver quality services in primary care, behavioral health and dental care— right here in the heart of rural West Virginia.”
