The West Virginia Department of Education knows today’ s workforce presents opportunities and challenges. West Virginia Adult Education( WVAdultEd) helps adults gain and improve functional skills to enhance their lives, fostering employment, citizenship, personal growth, self-esteem and dignity. WVAdultEd focuses on academics, soft skills and technology.
Free for adults, it tailors services to individual needs, offering employability skills, online learning, English as a second language, CPR, first aid, college entrance and high school equivalency test prep. The program also offers certifications in Microsoft, Adobe, customer service, work ethic proficiency and West Virginia Tourism Works.

West Virginia’ s Hope Scholarship program aims to empower families to make school choices that are most beneficial for their students’ educational needs.
Students in the program can attend a participating nonpublic school or can develop their own individualized instructional plan to be educated at home or through a microschool.
