Celebrate the Potomac Highlands
ANNA MOORE KENSIE HAMILTON FAUBER
West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) celebrated the Potomac Highlands region on September 5 at the Gandy Dancer Theatre and Conference Center in Elkins . Community leaders and neighbors gathered for networking to continue the momentum of the ongoing collaboration in the area . Some traveled far to attend for the chance to meet fellow West Virginians .
“ I am several months into my position as the executive director at the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce in Keyser ,” says Billie Jo Bennett . “ I traveled from Maysville and wanted to attend the Potomac Highlands Celebration so I would have a chance to meet and network with several people that I can connect with later down the road when other opportunities arise for us to get together .”
WVE delights in giving professionals the chance to meet and network for the greater good of the state of West Virginia . As the home of Snowshoe Mountain Resort , Spruce Knob ,
Seneca Rocks and Canaan Valley Resort ; three higher education institutions ; and the eight counties of Grant , Hampshire , Hardy , Mineral , Pendleton , Pocahontas , Randolph and Tucker , the Potomac Highlands region makes up much of the heart of this state . From outdoor recreation , entertainment venues , tourism , health care and so much more , this community of Mountaineers puts its best foot forward in making its residents and visitors alike feel right at home .
“ It was wonderful having West Virginia Executive in Elkins to celebrate the Potomac Highlands . Great conversation was had by all attendees from the region ,” says Robbie Morris , Randolph County Development Authority executive director . “ Events like these are very helpful in building regional cooperation among communities .”
West Virginia would not be where it is today if not for its people who work hard to make it a better place than it was yesterday . •
