Communities rich with festivals
A wide variety of community festivals and events throughout the west Lake Minnetonka area bring residents and visitors together year-round, offering opportunities for entertainment, connection and celebration. From summer festivals along the lake to seasonal gatherings and holiday traditions, these events play an important role in defining the character of the region.
Trista Day
Hosted each spring by the city of Minnetrista, Trista Day highlights public safety while bringing the community together for a day of family-friendly activities. The event provides an opportunity for residents— especially children— to meet local police, fire and emergency personnel, view demonstrations and learn more about the services that support the community.
Spirit of the Lakes Festival
Held each summer in Mound, the Spirit of the Lakes Festival is one of the largest and most anticipated events in the west Lake Minnetonka area. Centered around Surfside Park, the multi-day celebration features live music, a parade, fireworks and a variety of activities for all ages.
Corn Days
Organized by St. George Catholic Church in Long Lake, Corn Days is a long-running summer tradition that offers something for the whole family. The event typically includes food, live entertainment, games and community activities, with roasted corn serving as a signature feature.

Buckhorn Days
Buckhorn Days has returned as a revitalized summer tradition in Long Lake, offering a weekend of food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities. The event reflects the city’ s commitment to community engagement and continues to grow as a popular local celebration.
Dog Days
Hosted by Connect Westonka, Dog Days is a pet-focused event typically held in August at Surfside Park in Mound. The event celebrates pets and their owners with activities, demonstrations and opportunities to connect with local vendors and organizations.
Incredible Festival
The Incredible Festival, hosted by Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, is held annually in Mound and features a variety of entertainment and activities for all ages. The event typically includes carnival rides, games, live music and community gatherings.
Tree Lighting Celebrations
Communities throughout the west Lake Minnetonka area mark the start of the holiday season with annual tree lighting ceremonies and winter celebrations. Cities including Long Lake, Orono and Mound host festive gatherings featuring seasonal decorations, lights and opportunities for residents to come together.
