Welcome to the west lakes area
Lake Minnetonka’ s natural beauty often serves as the entry point to this area of the metro, but upon arrival, visitors and residents quickly realize there’ s much more to the west lakes area than Lake Minnetonka itself. The people who live here are the true treasure of the west lakes area, keeping communities together and preserving the beauty of this area for future generations.
Be it on Lake Minnetonka, Long Lake or Lake Independence, there are hosts of people who are working to promote welfare of area lakes. They’ ve done so by combating existing threats, chief among them invasive species like zebra mussels and carp, as well as prevent any possible new threats.
