Q4 REVIEW - NOV 2016

King's Fund report authors say there is an uneven distribution of all types of specialist staff. Specialty doctors, specialist nurses and GPs with special interests (GPSIs) form a significant component of the dermatology workforce. In the absence of any national data it is unclear how many there are and where they are located.

Most multidisciplinary specialist dermatology teams are based in the acute trust and may comprise consultant

dermatologists, specialty doctors, GPSIs, specialist nurses, and health care assistants (HCAs).
