Forsyth’ s historic City Hall has been renovated and is now a stately spot to hosts visitors.
• Special Events--The chamber promotes our local area through annual events such as the Forsythia Festival.
• Job Bank--The chamber compiles a list of available jobs in Monroe County. This list is available to anyone seeking a position or employers with positions to fill.
• Ribbon Cuttings--Chamber staff can help your company arrange for ribbon cuttings or other publicity events, including media coverage.
• Business Development Seminars--Members are invited to business classes several times a year. These classes cover all aspects of the business world today.
• Legislative Breakfasts-- Twice a year the chamber arranges a breakfast meeting with our state and federal elected officials.
• Education--The chamber encourages educational excellence by sponsoring the local STAR Program at our high school. We also created the Rising Star Program to encourage our middle school students.
Monroe County is good for business. It is our job here at the chamber to get that word out, but we need the active support of our members. We encourage Monroe County businesses to support the chamber’ s efforts, and we encourage chamber members to increase their involvement in chamber activities. The benefits affect us all. CHAMBER WELCOMES MILLIKAN AND BROWN
The Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce has welcomed two new staff members recently: Deborah K. Millikan and Jennifer Paul Brown. Millikan joined the Chamber as the Tourism Coordinator. She has an extensive background in event production – specific to festivals and parades, corporate sponsorships, and marketing. Millikan’ s top priorities will include the upcoming Public Safety Games, Green Tomato Festival, and Hometown Holiday Parade. Millikan |
looks forward to getting out into the community and meeting the hoteliers and owners of Monroe County’ s various destinations.
Additionally, the Chamber welcomes Jennifer Paul Brown. Brown joined the Chamber as the Administrative Assistant. Brown graduated from Macon State College on the Dean’ s list with a Bachelor’ s of Science in Public Service. When calling the Welcome Center, do not mistake her youthful voice as inexperience. Brown worked her entire time while obtaining

her degree – she is very articulate and computer literate. As a native of Monroe County, Mrs. Brown is |
anxious to apply what she learned in school and assist our member businesses to prosper and grow. |
