WELCOME GUIDE 2015
Nightline
Street Team
“Sometimes we need someone to simply be
there… Not to fix anything in particular, but just
to let us feel we are supported and cared about”
Street Team is a volunteer service that makes
sure that students who have been working late
on campus or who have been on a night out in
the Union who don’t want to walk home alone,
don’t have to. Student volunteers are fully trained
and do an amazing job in supporting students to
get home.
Coming to University, returning or for the first
time, can be a difficult time, it is a big change
to make, and with it comes lots of challenges
and responsibilities. It can be a daunting
experience, and feel very lonely; but having
someone who wants to listen to whatever
you want to talk about, in a safe, confidential
and non-judgemental setting can really help.
Keele nightline does just that between 9pm
and 3am every night of term, providing an
anonymous listening service for you, at a
time when other services are closed.
You’ll see the team in and outside of the
Students’ Union – say hello when you see them
and do ask them to support you in getting back
to your Hall – it’s what they are there for.
