WELCOME GUIDE 2015
Getting to know the Library
You are going to spend a lot of time in the Library
(and even more now that it is open 24 hours a
day) so it is really important that you learn how
to get the most out of it. You will find the Library
webpages and KLE resources invaluable.
They have lots of useful information such as
which books are located where and the floor
plans of the building, so you can get a head
start and feel that you know the place when
you first walk through the doors. During the
first few weeks, there will be lots of staff and
student guides on hand to answer any questions,
point you in the right direction and explain
how things work. To find out more go to
www.keele.ac.uk/library.
Specialist technology for blind/partially
sighted students is available in the AV room
in the library. Ask at Reception for access to
these specialist resources.
The Health Library at the Clinical Education
Centre at the Hospital Campus is also open
throughout the week at the following times:
Monday-Thursday 8.30am-9.45pm
Friday 8.30am-7.45pm
Saturday-Sunday 10.00am-10.00pm
The Health Library is not open on Bank Holidays
and has no out-of-hours access
During the weekends and after 5.30pm please
use the side-entrance opposite the footbridge.
You will need to use your Keele card or library
membership card to gain access, using the
Access Control system to open the door.
Please visit the Health Library website for more
information www.keele.ac.uk/healthlibrary
Things to do
when you receive
this Guide
This section is all about the return of important
information so we can prepare for your arrival
at Keele. When you have completed these
important tasks, you can relax and look forward
to starting life as a Keele student.
Completing the
pre-enrolment process
The first thing that all new students need
to do is complete the pre-enrolment process.
By 16 September at the latest, log onto the
University’s eVision system to complete the
pre-enrolment process. If you receive this
Welcome Guide after this date then please
pre-enrol as soon as you can.
To complete the pre-enrolment process go to
students.keele.ac.uk and log on with your
username and password. Click on the ‘The Office’
tab, you’ll find this located at the top right of
the screen and then on the top of the next
screen that appears, click on the ‘eVision’
tab which will take you to the eVision system.
From there all you have to do is follow the
on-screen instructions which will guide you
through the process.
The pre-enrolment process will allow you to:
• Provide a photograph of yourself so that
we can produce your KeeleCard ready for
when you arrive at Keele
• Supply us with details of a person who
we could get in touch with in case of
an emergency
• Check and confirm other information we hold
about you, which will save you time when you
arrive at Keele
• Choose any elective or optional modules,
if these are required as part of your
undergraduate degree course
