William Harvey was an english physician who discovered how blood circulated in the human body. Harvey was actually the first to accomplish this task, but at what cost? Harvey went through with many forms of strange experiments involving live animals and even himself! Through these means William Harvey Enlightened us on things that we now see as the basics of human anatomy but was it really worth the sacrifice his own body (and those poor little animals) had to take? Most people would definitely be hesitant to cut themselves open, some even say Harvey could have been psycho!

Thomas Harvey was this man’s father, he had a much more sane life. Thomas lived his life as a jurat (basically a judge of the law) of Folkestone. He’s described as diligent and intelligent. His sons revered and respected him, trusting their father with the estate they gained and also the wealth they had. This man sounds much more sane and down to earth but would he have been proud or disgusted by his sons transgressions? I personally think that he would not have agreed with how William was going about learning human anatomy, but then again some people could argue “how else could you go about learning about the human anatomy if you can’t experiment on things?” My rebuttal to this statement would be that I never said that you shouldn’t experiment on things, I said that experimenting on living animals and yourself is wrong you can experiment on dead things all you want because that’s much more humane.
