No Smoking

Cumberland County Council has a no smoking policy on all its premises and this includes Registration Offices , ceremony rooms , car parks and grounds .

Video

Video recording is at the discretion of the Ceremonies Team . Only one video camera to be used and the person recording the event should remain in one position . Any cameras or video equipment must be battery operated only .

Animals

Animals or birds are not permitted in any register office . The use of any animal or birds at a ceremony in a licensed venue is at the discretion of the owner / manager of the premises . We must be advised in writing of the use of any animal or bird in a ceremony at least 6 weeks in advance .

Mobile phones

Your guests will be asked to ensure that their mobile phones or electrical devices are silent or turned off during the ceremony .

Timing

We require where possible that the groom / partner is at the venue a minimum of half an hour before the ceremony . The bride / partner 15 minutes before the allocated starting time .

For couples who may be staying / changing at the venue , we would ask you to ensure that you are fully dressed with hair / makeup completed 30 minutes prior to the ceremony for the interview with the registrar . e day

Words & readings

You can choose to say special words to each other and add readings to your traditional or bespoke ceremony .
TRADITIONAL CEREMONY : Two readings or personalised vows .
BESPOKE CEREMONY : Personalised ceremony script which can include vows , readings and gestures .
