REAL WEDDING
‘ Our food was a real highlight- especially dessert!’
The food was exceptional at The Glasshouse at The Bull. After we had our first show around at the venue we booked a table for a Sunday roast and had sticky toffee pudding for afters. We knew instantly at that moment that this was our place to get married and we had sticky toffee pudding as our wedding dessert- it’ s honestly to die for!
‘ We wanted to capture emotions and memories’
For us, the most important thing was to capture lots of smiles and emotions of our wedding day without it being too staged. We had seen Nicola Dawson as a recommended photographer in The Glasshouse at The Bull’ s brochure, as soon as we saw her work we loved her style and knew instantly she would capture what we wanted in a timeless way- and she absolutely did!
‘ Our first dances were really special’
Our first dance was to James Morrison,‘ Won’ t Let You Go’, it came out the year we got together and is a song we always listened to and had sing-alongs to in the car. I then danced with my dad to‘ One’ by U2 and Mary J Blige before‘ Isn’ t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder had the dancefloor filling, it was really special as my dad always used to sing the song and put it on the radio when I was little.
‘ Our day was full of memories’
We wanted to make our day personal to us. My dad and I made an order of the day from an old pallet and we added pictures of us through the years to each table, creating them to look like Polaroids in an open frame with sunflower table numbers on the other side. We also had an old fashioned telephone that we hired for people to leave messages on which was so lovely and made sure everyone who was there left a little message.
‘ We will never forget the first moment we saw each other’
My favourite moment was seeing Chris at the end of the aisle. I’ ll never forget the moment he saw me in my dress while my lovely dad was walking me down, his eyes welled up and in that moment it just felt like it was just the two of us. We are childhood sweethearts, so to finally marry after 12 years felt magical.
