‘ Finding our venue was like love at first sight’
We only visited one venue and just knew instantly it was the one for us. We always knew we wanted somewhere where everything was included in the package, with no extra cost for food etc. The staff were incredible from the moment we first visited and the building is just so beautiful, offering a hint of both modern and character with the most beautiful Glasshouse and gorgeous Buttery, and the nice thing is we can keep going back there for tasty food for years to come!
‘ My dress was the first dress I tried on’
My dress was from Wild Flora in East Sussex, I had gone with a friend originally for her own wedding dress, saw a dress and thought it was beautiful, and then completely forgot about it. I went with my mum to try on dresses and little did I know the first dress that I tried on and picked was the very same one I had spotted a few years earlier! My mum, and then everyone on the day, said it was“ very Rosie”, it’ s a timeless design but unusual in that it looks like it is a two-piece.
‘ I wanted to be as comfortable as possible’
I didn’ t want to look back on our day and know that I was worrying about my shoes hurting, so I opted for some cream high-top Converse, they have always been my‘ go-to’ but these were extra special.
‘ Sunflowers were our key inspiration’
We always knew that we wanted yellows and olive green as our colour theme due to the month of our wedding. I get called‘ a sunflower’ so we knew it had to be sunflowers and white roses, with rustic furniture to match. Linsey at the wonderful Stag Cottage Flowers used all real flowers in beautiful yellows and whites, I knew I didn’ t want a formal round bouquet so instead she created my rustic wildflower-like dream bouquet. Chris opted for a light suit that was perfect for the weather and matched the colour theme.
