REAL WEDDING dress all day. We underestimated the weather and ended up with the hottest day of the year( stunning but sweaty!) so that mini evening dress would’ ve gone down a treat. I’ m sure that Matt may not have opted for a woollen three-piece either!
‘ Our focus was on capturing natural organic moments’
Shianne Mercer’ s style was something we scoured the‘ Gram for. Her work feels glossy yet editorial and although she was so hands-on and dependable, when our guests were just enjoying themselves no one felt observed. We love the image of our first kiss, but also the‘ Pin-dreamy’ long grass romantic shots. We had Charli May as our videographer, she created a beautiful look from Matt across the grass during the“ Teets, our paths crossed long before we ever truly met …” opening line of his speech. It’ s so special to watch those moments back.
‘ Sentimental jewellery made our day’
Matt gave me a beautiful diamond encrusted‘ M’ necklace, my mother gave me a pearl bracelet with our wedding date engraved on it, and my father’ s silver necklace that I usually wear every day was given to him to wear on the day.
‘ We opted away from traditional speeches’
We opted not to do traditional speeches, instead Matt had the opportunity for a pre-wedding breakfast speech that had everyone laughing and enraptured. Don’ t forget it’ s your day and you don’ t have to follow a script.
‘ An unexpected storm was the perfect wedding party backdrop’
Our day was so filled with special and personalised moments, from Chiqas on the strings to Boombox DJ, our‘ Matt’ s Margarita’ and‘ My Thai’ cocktails, and the dessert table created by my beautiful mother. After a day filled with heat and love, a storm broke out and lightning created a magnificent backdrop for the wedding party. We ran to the car, got absolutely drenched and the hem of my dress was ruined( I’ ll be dyeing her and turning it into a midi!)- it was messy and very us!
