‘ We loved how the gardens at our venue came to life in June’
Our venue must-have was a space we could envision our guests moving around in. We wanted somewhere that was chic but informal, comfortable but also whimsical, and we found our perfect venue in the Secret Garden in Mersham Le Hatch. The staff were warm and dedicated, while the venue was wedding-focused and it showed! Having a local florist who could paint a picture of what the grounds would look like in June was such an unexpected benefit.
‘ We wanted a garden party atmosphere that was natural and undone yet put together’
Trying to combine wild meadow meets elegance, our florist Karen at Anemone Blue created loose and unstructured hand-tied bouquets and a stunning 10ft‘ upside down’ meadow-style gazebo garland. My Aunty Niveen and cousins handmade a really delicate floral hoop which incorporated sweeping fabric, pampas grass, eucalyptus and gypsophelia. Etsy was my best friend for the other details as I love supporting small businesses.
‘ Green was our chosen hue’
Matt had always envisioned getting married in a dark green suit. He was set on a certain hue, and it was really hard to find! He played around with ideas of burgundy( which would’ ve been a vibe on him), but the deep forest green kept drawing him back in. He wanted something timeless, that felt‘ him’ and he was obsessed with the cut. Our bridesmaids wore sage green Grecian-style dresses, while the groomsmen also went for muted green.
‘ I wish I’ d opted for a second mini dress’
I loved shopping for my dress and could have easily shopped‘ til I dropped. In the end it came down to two and I went with the one I kept being drawn to trying on again and again. I desperately wanted a second evening dress- a pearly white mini- however people kept telling me I should wear my special
