‘ Every aspect of our day was personal to us’
Every aspect of our day was personal to us. That was something we really wanted to make sure that our wedding was personal. I see so many weddings here at Chilston that we wanted ours to feel extra special.
I made a lot of things myself, like the order of services for the church as well as a‘ wedding newspaper’. For the confetti cones, I made them out of a book we got from a charity shop about gardening because Rhys loves the garden.
I also see so many weddings that create so much one-time-usage and I didn’ t want that. Our floral centerpieces were artificial and are now in a ceramic pot I can use in the garden. Our‘ favours’ for our guests were individual letters to them hand written by Rhys and I and little memories we have together with them.
‘ I got to marry my best friend’
The highlight for us was definitely marrying each other! I think you can get so lost in weddings and wedding planning and you lose the reason behind the special day. I got to marry my best friend on that day and we got to spend it with all of our nearest and dearest.
