Globally Harmonised System (GHS) in the EU

Companies operating in the EU must classify, label and
package chemicals according to requirements set out in
the CLP

•

Suppliers of hazardous chemicals must provide safety
data sheets that contain information on properties of a
particular chemical

CLP is mandatory in all EU Member States

Substances: Since 1 December 2010
Mixtures: As of 1 June 2015 (can be implemented on a
voluntary basis until then)

Extended deadlines for new EU Members, for example
