Major Changes Introduced by the Industrial Emissions Directive

Facilities whose activities may cause soil and ground water
contamination must prepare a baseline report that will be
used as a reference when assessing contamination at the
closure of operations.
Authorities will review and regularly update issued integrated
permits whenever the European Commission adopts Best
Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions.
Facilities posing the highest risk will be inspected annually
and the lowest risk every three years.
Permit content and inspection reports are accessible to the
public.
