Thank you to everyone who completed the magazine survey . Your feedback was very interesting and 99.99 % complimentary . It was good to know that the magazine still holds a strong place in our communications and there are no plans to change that .
Some observations were made about the paper used and perhaps how we could reduce the cost . In answer to that ; the last increase in the annual subscription price was over 20 years ago . A change of designer and printer did reduce our costs a few years ago and whilst printing costs have increased we have managed to still hold the subscription fee whilst producing a magazine with a professional image . Our grateful thanks to Ivor for all his hard work in supporting the production of the magazine .
One of the main reasons for the survey was to look at how important The Collie Shop pages are to readers , given that 20 years ago there was no online ability to purchase items and so the magazine was the main outlet for the items we sell . The results were as follows .
No preference - 62 % Four pages with eight in Autumn issue ( current format ) - 15 % Four pages all issues - 4 % Two pages with four in Autumn issue - 16 % Two pages all issues - 3 %
73 % of readers have purchased an item either online or by phone having seen the Collie Shop items so clearly still an important part of the magazine .
When it comes to reading the magazine it seems most of you read it soon after arrival
Read it straight away or within a day or so - 76.5 % Glance through it over several days - 18 % Varies - 5 % Often forget to read it until much later - 0.5 %
