Richard Reed Solicitors , based at Frederick Street , has offered 23-year-old Abigail Pitt a contract to train as a solicitor , following her 18-month stint with the firm as a paralegal .
And now the would-be lawyer is excited about this next stage of her career development – and has praised her employers for the opportunity .
Originally from Liverpool , Abi studied Law at Newcastle University and completed the Legal Practice Course and her Masters in Law at Northumbria University , before gaining a place working at Richard Reed in the Family Law team .
“ I ’ m very excited to take up the training contract and moving my career on to the next stage ,” said Abi .

The charity works with young cancer patients with a palliative diagnosis , providing much needed support through providing cash gifts , keepsakes and creative therapy . In less than 15 years the North-East charity has been transformed from a small , family-led organisation into a national charity working with every major children ’ s cancer unit in the country .
