WE-BE POWERFUL! WEAs we grow from children to teens our dreams either flourish or disappear. We wait for life to start but really it already has. We may think the decisions we make now are pointless but the truth is some of them affect the rest of our lives, and can change the lives of others. We're young and full of energy. We can do anything we put our minds to, and the time passes whether we do it or we don't. No one ever really knows their own strength and power until they achieve what they never thought they could. We can change so many things, from making a person’s day brighter by giving them a genuine smile, to giving them courage to stand up for themselves, to saving someone’s life! You never know what someone’s going through. There are many organizations nowadays putting all their efforts into changing the world and helping to make it a better place. One that helps youth to do that is global youth service day http://www.gysd.org/. From April 26-28 youth pledge to celebrate and share their belief in youth power by completing small acts of kindness throughout their community. Throughout the rest of the year anyone can help by creating their own project or joining others. It is the largest service event in the world and helps over 100 countries each year. You can pledge to change the world one small act at a time! This is what many youth today are doing; using their energy to achieve their dreams and help others live fuller lives too. When we see how significant we are at helping others, it builds our confidence to stand up and continue to make change for ourselves and others when it is necessary. Being the change we wish to see, we’re influencing everyone around us. We don't have to change the world all at once – we can just start by changing the world, by helping one person at a time.
