CHAMPION OF YOUTH GALA Eat, drink and bid all to benefit our Club and its innovative and exciting programming. The largest fundraising event of the year always proves to be a good time of cele- bration and inspiration. September 2. HAUNTED HOUSE & TALENT SHOW 3. HOST BGCV TEENS AT YOUR COMPANY BGCV’s College and Ca- reer Prep programs help members research and explore career opportuni- ties while developing job readiness skills. Busi- nesses can fulfill their “Day of Service” by vol- unteering to host a job shadowing day for Club teens, and giving an in- sider’s view of a possible career field. Year-round 4. CLUB THANKSGIVING Who doesn’t love to be spooked a little bit?! Be prepared to enter the haunted art studio cour- tesy of our Art Director, Lalo, along with our Key- stone teens and volun- teers. Join us afterwards for a celebration of music and dance by our Club members. October 22 The holidays are a great time to give thanks and give back. Are you look- ing for a volunteer oppor- tunity? Want to connect to the BGCV community? The Club’s Thanksgiving celebration is held the week before the actual holiday to give thanks to our kids and families and C LUB M EM BE R S EV E R YO N E serve them a warm and hearty turkey dinner with all the trimmings. November 5. HOLIDAY PARTY County are provided unique access to Califor- nia’s oceans, harbors, and marine wildlife. Kids develop leadership skills, team work, and how to travel safely on the water. Year-round 7. YOUTH OF THE YEAR Tis’ the season to be jolly! Get cozy at the Club as we celebrate the end of the year with BGCV members, their families, and friends of the Club. Activities include arts and crafts, food and drink, and a toy/gift give- away for all. December 6. SAILING AND KAYAKING There are few leadership experiences that match being at the helm of a sailboat directing the ac- tions of others on board. Organized and led by BGCV, Club members from throughout LA Hear our teens share their stories of resilience, character, and accom- plishments. Established in 1947, Youth of the Year is BGCA’s premier recog- nition program for Club members, promoting service to the Club, com- munity and family; aca- demic success; strong moral character life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. Join the journey as our Venice finalists vie for the coveted title of Youth of the Year for our Club. The title comes with a scholarship fund, a Gap shopping spree, a Mi- crosoft laptop and much, much more. January 8. WE ARE VENICE OPEN HOUSE AND NATIONAL FINE ARTS EXHIBITION PREVIEW Check out the Club this Winter to meet Club staff and learn about exciting new programs for Spring.
