After 17 years in the business there is nothing that I dislike about what I do – I love it . The first property that I sold for RE / MAX Property Associates was to a fellow agent who was living in the house as a tenant .
Talking to agents who are working in today ’ s market , I would say that you need to wake up every morning and answer your phone , be available to your clients and respond to them timeously . Your office should be able to support you electronically and market the brand to increase awareness in the area in which you operate .

I love people , homes and gardens . It is a wonderful feeling to find the perfect home for a buyer and to bring two willing parties together to orchestrate a successful transaction or agreement of sale . I love the art of the deal and providing an excellent service to my clients . If there is anything I dislike about being an agent , it is the public not showing us the respect we deserve as professionals . Sometimes people do not arrive for appointments , even after confirmation , which is totally disrespectful . From the agent ’ s side , it is important that we act with integrity and honestly to build trust . We need to create an environment where we can all work together in harmony , thus creating an atmosphere that is conducive to selling . This is important , I think .
Always be innovative and be positive .
The first home I sold for RE / MAX Property Associates was a R2.3 million sale in Perlemoen Road , No 17 - the bond commission was R36 000.00 ! The best advice that I ever received was to give constant feedback to my clients and to keep going . The advice I would give to agents today is that if you want to be successful , you have to do something different . Go out and meet a least 10 to 20 new people and shake their hands . It is important to stay in touch with your old clients . Always be innovative and be positive . It is not about you , it is all about service so go out and close .
RE / MAX Property Associates has really done amazing things for us as agents . Their marketing of the brand in Blouberg and surrounding areas has been simply outstanding . As an office they have done what is required . It is now up to us individually to improve our skills regarding social media networking . I have been following the Presidential campaign in the US with great interest . The power of social media has become phenomenal . We must make use of this more and improve our skills because social media is very powerful .
To each and every one at RE / MAX , thank you for all the moments during these past 17 years , especially to Caron and José . I have had my disappointments , but , I have enjoyed and being humbled by my achievements , much more so during all these years at Property Associates . Thank you for your support , inspiration and love .
