Kindness and warmth exuded from the staff we encountered , and I learned that many of them have been with the resort for decades . General Manager Jay Leonard ’ s passion and care for the hotel , its staff , and its guests set the bar for his employees . In 2024 , the hotel ’ s operating company , TPG Hotels and Resorts , made Jay the first inductee in their Hall of Fame .
For Jay and many of his staff , the Wyndham LBV isn ’ t only a hotel ; it ’ s home . That ’ s easy to see in the lobby , which feels like a beachy living room where you can relax . Display cabinets showcase Jay ’ s father ’ s miniature lighthouse collection and awards the hotel has won . On the day of my visit with Jay , the team had recently received a new one : Wyndham ’ s Best Housekeeping in North America award .
“ I love meeting my customers . I love talking to my customers . I love spending time with my customers . I have a ton of stories to share ; I ' ve been doing this for 43 years !” Jay told me .
An arcade awaits off the lobby .
Jay also shared that he designs the guest experience based on feedback and his experience traveling with his family . Recent upgrades based on evolving guest needs include premium Wi-Fi , more outlets and USB sockets in the rooms , additional shade by the pool , and a vending machine in the lobby stocked with essential items . Features like the 24-hour Sundial Cafe grab-and-go , tables with power outlets , a new Good Game Arcade in the lobby , and reserved transportation to the theme parks demonstrate how the team anticipates guest needs .
SMALL PRICE , BIG VALUE A few years ago , Jay recognized that the hotel had two different customers : those looking to economize by using the transportation and bringing snacks from home , and those looking for little luxuries like valet parking and handcrafted cocktails . To meet the needs of both types of guests , Jay worked with Wyndham to dual-brand the hotel . This allows customers to access all the same amenities ( some included amenities , such as access to the pools and fitness center , and some paid options , such as pool-side cabanas ), but choose rooms at two different price points .
See the miniature lighthouse collection in the lobby .
Only a short walk from the front door of the Wyndham LBV are nearly 70 delicious dining options at Disney Springs . The best part ? A lot of these spots are much easier than those in the parks to get reservations or walk-up tables . Here are a few of our favorites .
Morimoto Asia features an eclectic pan-Asian fusion menu , complemented by a sleek , artsy dining room featuring a 270-foot sculpture that connects the bars on the first and second floors . No detail is too small here ; Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto specially selects even the rice on offer . Some of our favorite dishes include the sushi rolls , spicy kung pao cauliflower , juicy A-5 wagyu burger bao , and Japanese souffle cheesecake with strawberry and shio . Try the Yuzu Margarita or the Kokuto Old Fashioned with Japanese whiskey if you ’ re feeling adventurous .
