RAINY DAYS & A SPECIAL CAVALCADE

No one wants a rainy day at Walt Disney World , but you can ’ t control the weather ( unless you ’ re Thor ).

Unfortunately , no matter the time of year , you never know when rain or a thunderstorm will happen at WDW . Even if the forecast calls for sunshine , there ’ s always a chance rain will start falling . Those who live in Orlando and frequent WDW often know that rain likes to sneak up when you least expect it .
That said , rainy days aren ’ t always bad when you ’ re at the most magical place on earth .
Rainy days offer a unique way to discover new magic . From a special Magic Kingdom cavalcade to an excuse to eat cozy foods to lower crowds , rain has its benefits .
Here are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to rainy Disney days .
RAINY DAY PERKS Wait , there are perks to a rainy day at WDW ? You bet !
• It can scare people away , which means typically lower crowds .
• Rain cools off that unbearable summer heat .
• It can lessen wait times and make for shorter lines .
• Busy walking spaces open up since people try to avoid the rain as much as possible .
• If the rain is consistent , the park will usually empty out by the end of the day .
• Magic Kingdom has a Rainy Day Cavalcade with a fun song , cute rain-themed costumes , and Disney characters .
• Rain makes for a good excuse to grab some warm and cozy food , like a cup of Joffrey ’ s coffee or a massive cinnamon roll from Gaston ’ s Tavern in Magic Kingdom .
WHAT ’ S THE BEST PARK FOR A RAINY DAY ? I don ’ t have a favorite park for a rainy day , but if you know rain is coming and you can plan ahead , I recommend heading
