OUT-OF-THE-PARK THEMING With oversized icons and fun design , sports fans won ’ t be able to resist the themed sections of the resort . Surf ’ s Up ! is the preferred area that borders the main pool just outside Stadium Hall . Large surfboards flank the sides of the buildings , and the staircases might be one of my favorites of all the All-Star resorts — they are hidden inside large lifeguard stands !
The Hoops Hotel section has huge referee whistles . But nothing beats the bounty of basketballs , which all seem to be bouncing or in mid-swoosh .
Center Court is the perfect match for tennis enthusiasts . Large rackets and balls adorn the front of the building . To ascend the stairs , you ’ ll need to step inside a humongous tennis ball can . Between the buildings , you can catch Huey , Dewey , and Louie trying to play a game of baseball on the tennis court . Those silly ducks !
Touchdown ! is where all of the cool football players hang out . Disney kicks a field goal for theming with large football helmets between the buildings and super-sized footballs .
Homerun Hotel is , you guessed it , baseball-themed and home of the Grand Slam Pool . Details that set this apart from the other areas include the bleachers , stadium lighting , and scoreboard . Gigantic cups of Coca-Cola and bats make you feel like root , root , rooting for the home team . It ’ s also the closest section if you want to jog over for some fun at Disney ’ s All-Star Music Resort .
The football helmets in the Touchdown ! area of the resort are big enough to fit roughly 33 6-foot-tall football players all standing one on top of the other .
A ROOM FOR YOUR CHAMPION Your little sports star will feel like a champion in either a Standard or Preferred Room . The room border features Mickey , Daisy , Minnie , Goofy , and Donald in action , most likely winning the game for their team . You can also see your all-star characters on the shower curtain . The décor is very subtle , and chances are it will change dramatically when renovations are complete .
