Landon, Callie, and Gus caught up with Jonathan and his parents in Norway. His
shoes were still dangling off the wheelchair handle. Earlier someone had spilled
apple cider on them and he’d taken them off to dry.
“Hey, dude, it was really great to meet you. We can’t stay, but we just wanted to
come say goodbye,” Landon said. As he spoke, he silently slipped the Christmas
Party tickets into Jonathan’s shoes.
“Hey, take care, you guys,” Jonathan fist bumped his goodbyes.
Callie and Landon ducked out of sight but secretly kept watch on Jonathan. When
his mom found the tickets, Jonathan’s face lit up brighter than a Christmas tree!
“You were like just like Père Noël and La Befana,” Callie said. “That was…well, that
was magical, Landon.”
Landon smiled and looked back at their new friend wheeling away. “Merry
Christmas, Jonathan,” he whispered.
