“I know,” Landon agreed. “I wish there was a way we could help.” “Maybe there is,” Callie started, then whispered her plan to Landon. A smile spread over Landon’s face, and he nodded. The twins listened quietly as Helga told all about nutcrackers and German Christmas traditions, but they were eager for her to finish. “Hey, Jonathan, we’ve got something we need to do,” Landon said. “Maybe we’ll catch up with you later. Where are you going next?” “Hmmm. Probably to China and then Norway,” Jonathan answered. “Great. See you later,” Callie and Landon waved. Callie turned to Gus as they walked away. “Gus, we need to call Mom and see if she can get three tickets for Mickey’s Christmas Party.” Gus used to work for Disney security, and now he tagged along while the Parks explored Disney World. “Well, I can save you the trouble,” Gus said. “She told me earlier that she doesn’t have any more tickets for tonight. You guys will just have to go another day.” “No, Gus, the tickets weren’t for us. We wanted to give them to Jonathan’s family,” Callie sighed. Her grand plan was crumbling. “Maybe we still can,” Landon slowly reached in his pocket and pulled out a roll of money. Callie gasped. “Landon? Your toy Monorail money! You’ve been working hard and saving up forever!” “Yeah,” he paused. “But…I’ve got lots of toys. And Jonathan’s family has lots of stinkin’ doctor bills. Who knows when he’ll ever be able to go to the Christmas Party?” Callie squeezed her brother’s arm. “That’s pretty awesome, Landon.” “Well, let’s go get those tickets!” Landon determined. Landon purchased three tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, using every bit of the money he’d saved up. “It’s worth it,” he said, almost to himself.
