WDW Magazine December 2014 - Crowds at WDW | Page 37

As a result of this, we found ourselves tangled in crowds, constantly rushing, passing up other attractions we were interested in, and back-tracking frequently to go back and see the things we passed up. Halfway through the trip, I discovered that almost all the FP+ reservations could be changed even that morning, with the exception of three. Given these revelations, I will now lay out how I will best utilize the FP+ system in the future. While I realize that not everyone can benefit, and things change depending on the crowd levels and time of year you visit, these are some ground rules I’ve decided upon as a repeat visitor. Photo by Brett Svenson 1 2 Three attractions need booked at 60 days: Frozen characters, Toy Story Midway Mania, and The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I was able to book or change everything else the night before with ease. Off site guests are at a severe disadvantage when it comes to these three attractions, even during off-peak times. If you don't book Frozen at 60 days out, there's an almost certain chance you won't get it. Within the first few minutes that the booking window opened, Frozen was unavailable up the first three days of my trip already. Do book a Be Our Guest FP, as this makes life much easier to eat lunch here. Once again, only on-site guests can do this. If you are off-site, you must get there early
