Last year , Disney • Pixar released its new film , Elemental , which follows an unlikely pair : a fiery young woman with a hot head named Ember Lumen and an empathetic , if not overly emotional , city inspector named Wade Ripple . But this is Pixar , so the characters aren ’ t simply humans at odds ( yet falling in love ) with one another ; they ’ re elements . Ember is a fire element , and Wade is a water element .
This creative , charming , and heartwarming film marks a departure for Disney , as the movie feels more rom-com than comedy adventure — but don ’ t worry , there ’ s plenty of adventure , too . That makes Ember and Wade the perfect duo for couples ( or best friends ) to DisneyBound as .
