WDW Magazine April 2016 - Disney's Hollywood Studios | Page 21

The Disney Blogosphere is all abuzz place proclaiming doom and gloom and death to Hollywood Studios. What’s going to be left? What are you going to do? Is there really any reason to go to DHS now? I think I’ll just pass for the next couple of years until Star Wars and Toy Story lands open up. That’s pretty silly. I’ve even had some of my own staff and friends tell me that it won’t be worth it even to visit the park after the closures. So, Dad, is this the Death of Disney’s Hollywood Studios? It struck me last week that a whole lot of people who were pronouncing Disney’s Hollywood Studios dead, were “DEAD” wrong! Paraphrasing Mark Twain, the rumors of Disney’s Hollywood Studios death are greatly exaggerated. Yes, Disney is going to close Lights, Motors, Action!, Studio Catering Company, the Honey I Shrunk the Audience Playground and some of the character meet and greet areas (I bet those just get moved.) Yes, that’s a lot of real estate, but think about it. It’s only one show, one minor attraction and a couple of eating options. (Expect a rant about eating options at Hollywood Studios shortly.)
