EDON BRANCH

In 2025 the Edon Branch Library was filled with creativity, laughter, and opportunities for our community to learn and connect. Throughout the year, patrons of all ages found reasons to visit the library, not only for books, but for activities, creative projects, and memorable community events.
One of the biggest things that happened this year was our new digital sign, and we couldn’ t have done it without the amazing support from our wonderful Edon Friends Group.
For our younger visitors, we offered programs that encouraged creativity and exploration such as kids cooking classes, Happy Kids Craft Hour, Storytime, and Messy Art Days. Our Take & Make Crafts also remained popular, giving families the opportunity to bring fun projects home.
Families enjoyed a variety of special activities throughout the year, including themed celebrations like Dr. Seuss’ s birthday, monthly Treasure Hunts where participants searched the library for hidden prizes, and Coloring Contests that encouraged creativity and friendly competition. The library also hosted popular gatherings such as Family Bingo and Family Movie Nights, while displays like Blind Date with a Book invited patrons to discover new titles and genres in a fun and surprising way.
Our adult classes were a big hit. Patrons enjoyed paper bead classes, spray paint art, watercolor painting, and acrylic painting classes. Our Senior Craft Hour, held in partnership with the Senior Center, continued to provide a welcoming environment for seniors to socialize and explore new craft projects together.
Our Summer Reading Program was one of the biggest highlights of the year. Participants took part in a community-wide painted rock hunt around town, enjoyed special presenters such as the Exotic Zoo, and Jim“ Basketball” Jones, and celebrated with a Free Donut Day. Children participated in the Summer Reading Challenge, where they could earn weekly prizes for reading and collect tickets for larger prize drawings, including Kings Island tickets generously donated to the library. Other summer activities included a Library Lock-In for older kids, and Tie-Dye Tag.
The year concluded with a special visit from Santa and a performance by the Edon School Choir, helping bring the community together to celebrate the season. Through these programs and activities, the Edon Branch Library remained a welcoming hub for creativity, learning, and community engagement. We look forward to continuing to expand our programs and provide meaningful experiences for patrons in the coming year.
