BRYAN MAIN-OUTREACH
Outreach Services at Williams County Public Library continues to grow as an extension of our branches in 2025. Serving as a personal librarian for those patrons unable to visit our branches, and a friendly face representing the library both online and at in-person events in our community.
Outreach serves over 40 Williams County residents with an average of 62 visits a month. The goal of these visits is to continue the library relationship with patrons who have had to forgo our traditional services. Keeping patrons connected to all library services is a vital part of Outreach. Each visit allows Outreach to better learn about the patron, and then apply that knowledge to the items that are chosen and delivered to the patron, along with information on other services that the patron may personally benefit from.
Our Outreach Services also played an active role in community visibility and engagement throughout the year. From our constant presence in parades-watch for our colorful van-to Cinco de Mayo celebrations, Cruise Ins, the Spring Fling, Christkindl Mascot Night, Farmers Markets and the Bryan Homecoming football game, the library was there. Every event was a chance to share what WCPL has to offer the community, whether that is children’ s programming, reference tools, or local history / notary services.
Outreach Services continues to partner with local organizations to provide helpful programs to patrons, such as a Resume and Online Job Search Workshop with Ohio Means Jobs, and the Real World, Real Money program in partnership with the OSU Ext. Office that helped high school seniors to prepare to manage finances in life beyond graduation. Outreach also delivers WCPL newsletters to local businesses, doctors offices, and more!
This year, Outreach placed newly refurbished Little Free Libraries all around Bryan, and continually restocks these Free Libraries with books for the community. The Outreach Manager also has partnered with the WCPL Marketing & PR Manager for the weekly online series, Overdue Conversations with the Library Ladies to share information on the news, events, and services happening at WCPL! Outreach is dedicated to keeping the library in your minds and your hearts.
